KNOWLEDGE

FORMS

Understanding and using web based Forms is a major consideration for the new user to the Internet.  Shown below is a simple example of a web based form.  It consists of:
  • Labels (First name, Surname, etc.),
  • Text Boxes (the boxes next to each label),
  • and Command Buttons (Submit and Reset) which are clicked when you are happy with the details entered on the form.

The form is way of getting the user to enter information to return to the company whose web site is being accessed.  It could be so that the company can send out further information to the customer or simply to track visitors to the site.

To enter details on the form use the mouse to click in the text box next to the label "First name".  Type in your name.  To access the other text boxes use the Tab key on the keyboard or alternatively use the mouse.  Once you are happy that the details you have entered are correct click the Submit button to send the details to the web site manager.

N.B. In this example this has been disabled.
