USING BOOKMARKS (FAVORITES) |
| |
| Favorites, known as bookmarks in Netscape
Navigator, are a convenient way to organise and link to web pages that you
visit frequently. Internet Explorer has a menu named Favorites
which you can use to list web sites that you visit regularly. To add
a currently open web site to your Favorites list in Internet Explorer,
i.e. bookmark a web site, select the Favorites menu and then select
Add to Favorites.

If you use Internet Explorer on several
computers, you can easily share Favorite items between computers by
importing them. Also, if you use both Internet Explorer and
Navigator, you can keep your Favorites and bookmarks up-to-date with each
other by importing them between programs.
- To import bookmarks or Favorites, click the File menu, and
then click Import and Export.
- To export Favorites to bookmarks or Favorites on the same or another
computer, click the File menu, and then click Import and
Export.

ORGANISING BOOKMARKS (FAVORITES) |
| |
| Favorites, or bookmarks, can be organised
using the Organize Favorites option on the Favorites menu in
Internet Explorer. This option allows you, as you can see below, to
create folders in which you can organise your bookmarked web sites.
This is exactly the same as creating folders/directories on your
hard/floppy disc to store your files. If done correctly your
bookmarked web sites will be there for easy access in the future. |
