Improving Productivity Using IT Level

Unit aims
This is the ability to plan, evaluate and improve procedures involving the use of IT tools and systems to improve the productivity and efficiency of tasks and activities.
On completion of this unit the candidate should be able to plan and review their use of predefined or commonly used IT tools for activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They will be able to devise solutions to use IT tools to improve productivity, as well as take considerable responsibility and autonomy being prepared to offer support and advice to others.
Examples of context: An improvement may be adapting an off-the-shelf solution to create a bespoke database to manage customer relationships in a marketing context.
Learning outcomes
There are 3 learning outcomes to this unit. The learner will be able to:
1. Plan,
select and use appropriate IT systems and software for different purposes.
This course has been written to comply with the City & Guilds ITQ qualification Unit Code 301 Improving Productivity Using IT at Level 3 or the OCR ITQ qualification Unit Code 3 Improving Productivity Using IT at Level 3.
This module should take 40 hours to complete.
